Lake Camelot, IL

Lake Camelot is a Peoria County census-designated place built as a residential lake community in 1969. The 2020 census counted 1,798 residents. The development covers about 640 acres and is organized around two named lakes, Lake Camelot and Lake Lancelot, with docks, boat ramps, and stocked water. There is no separate village center in the usual sense; the neighborhood's identity is the lakes, winding residential roads, clubhouse, and shared association spaces set among the western Peoria County roads. Illini Bluffs Community Unit School District 327 serves the area, tying Lake Camelot to nearby rural communities and the larger school map.

The two lakes shape weekends and seasons, while surrounding roads carry residents toward Mapleton, Peoria, and farm-country errands. The Camelot Round Table Association handles shared operations and community facilities, including the clubhouse complex and beach.
