About Lake Grove

Lake Grove is a Suffolk County village in the middle of Long Island, along the old Middle Country Road corridor. The area was settled in the early 1700s and used several names before becoming Lake Grove. Today the village is strongly associated with Smith Haven Mall, roughly half of which lies within its boundaries, as well as surrounding suburban neighborhoods and shopping corridors. Lake Grove feels practical and retail-oriented, with a small-village government inside a much larger Long Island suburban landscape.
