Lake View, SC

Lake View is a small, quiet town in Dillon County, South Carolina, sitting just a couple of miles from the North Carolina state line and about 13 miles southeast of Dillon. Home to around 700 residents, it offers a relaxed, rural pace of life where everyone knows their neighbors. The community began in the late 1700s as a gristmill settlement on Bear Swamp and went by Page's Mill for generations before voters adopted the name Lake View in 1916. Today, the town features quiet residential streets, local shops, and a tight-knit community feel.

The centerpiece of the area is Page's Millpond, a sprawling body of water surrounded by cypress trees that has defined the local landscape for centuries. It remains a favorite spot for freshwater fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the outdoors. South Carolina Highway 9 runs directly through town, giving residents a straightforward commute to Dillon for everyday essentials, as well as a direct route to the Grand Strand beaches around Myrtle Beach in under an hour.
