Lakeland, TN

Lakeland is a Shelby County city in the Memphis metropolitan area, originally tied to the lake now known as Garner Lake. The city was once the site of Lakeland Amusement Park, a now-defunct attraction that still gives the place a more specific origin story than many Memphis suburbs. Today Lakeland is served by the Lakeland School System and Arlington Community Schools, with a mostly residential profile built around suburban growth, schools, parks, and access to eastern Shelby County.
