One quirk newcomers should know is that the county line cuts right through the community. Even if your home physically sits in Porter County, you will likely have a Crown Point mailing address.

Day-to-day neighborhood perks, from security patrols and road upkeep to the clubhouse, pool, and boat launches, are handled by the local property owners association. Where your house is located inside the gates also determines your school district. Families on the Lake County side are zoned for Crown Point schools, while those on the Porter County side attend Porter Township schools. It offers a relaxed, resort-like atmosphere while keeping you close to shopping and dining in both neighboring towns.
