About Lansing

Lansing is a city in Leavenworth County, Kansas, situated along the western bank of the Missouri River on the state border. Located just south of Leavenworth and part of the Kansas City metropolitan area, the community of approximately 11,200 is named for pioneer settler James Lansing. The city is the home of the Lansing Correctional Facility and is served by the Lansing Unified School District 469.
