Laporte, CO

Laporte is a small, laid-back community nestled along the Cache la Poudre River, just a ten-minute drive northwest of Fort Collins. Home to around 2,400 residents, it offers a peaceful, rural setting with scenic views of the Rocky Mountain foothills. French-Canadian fur trappers settled the area in the early 1800s, naming it "the door" because it served as a natural gateway to the mountains. Today, it retains that quiet, small-town character, where riverfront properties and open pastures sit just off County Road 54G and U.S. 287.
