Latham, NY

Latham is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Colonie, just north of Albany. It sits around the meeting of major local roads between Albany, Troy, Schenectady, and the Mohawk River crossings, which makes it feel more like a practical Capital Region crossroads than a self-contained village. The area has had several names over time, including Yearsley's and Van Vranken's, before taking the Latham name. Today it is mostly suburban, with shopping, offices, schools, and quick access to Albany International Airport.
