Layhill is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Montgomery County, Maryland, located north of Silver Spring. Established under a 1716 land patent and bisected by the Northwest Branch stream, the community of approximately 5,500 features the nearby National Capital Trolley Museum. The neighborhood is served by local public schools including Argyle Middle School. A notable community landmark is a historic, 225-year-old oak tree located at the intersection of Layhill Road and Bel Pre Road.
