About Lewiston
Lewiston was established by Ford Lewis in 1886 after the railroad reached northwest Pawnee County, and a hardware store, blacksmith shop, churches, and school followed. The school history includes a 1967 fire, a replacement building in 1968, and a later complex that added athletic, art, and music facilities; the school continues to serve the area. Lewiston lies 23.5 miles northwest of Pawnee City along Highways 8, 99, and 4. The county page also identifies Lewiston City Park and Jeannie’s Place café, giving the village current stops alongside its school and highway connections.
