Lexington, MS

As the county seat of Holmes County, Lexington is a quiet Mississippi community sitting just north of Black Creek, where the state's rolling hills meet the Delta. The town grew around its historic courthouse square, which still serves as the main hub for local government and commerce. State Highways 12 and 17 intersect right in town, making it easy for residents to get around the region while enjoying the open space and calm pace of small-town living.

Everyday life here revolves around local schools, neighborhood churches, and familiar downtown storefronts. Lexington also holds an important place in educational and cultural history as the home of Saints Academy, a landmark twentieth-century institution founded to expand opportunities for Black students. Between traditions like the annual Fall Festival and plenty of outdoor spots along nearby waterways, it is a welcoming, close-knit town with deep roots.
