Liberty, TN

Liberty is a quiet, historic community in DeKalb County, settled right along Smith Fork Creek. Founded in the late 1790s by Maryland pioneer Adam Dale, the settlement grew into a central trading post for nearby farm families. Back then, locals came into town for everything from gristmills and doctor visits to dry goods, establishing a close country community that has held onto its rural roots for over two centuries.

Today, that historic character is still easy to see. A drive down Main Street takes you past nineteenth-century houses, an old brick bank, country churches, and stone walls along the creek bottom. With its quiet streets, surrounding farmland, and relaxed pace, Liberty offers a peaceful setting in the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee where life moves a little easier.
