Lima, IL

Lima is a village in Adams County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census counted 148 residents. Lima is part of the Quincy, IL–MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. Lima was platted in 1833, the year that the first store was established in the village, by Dr. That mix gives Lima a clear local shape within Illinois, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. Orr named the village Lima after Lima, Peru, on the suggestion of a Peruvian friend. Lima is located along Illinois State Route 96.
