About Lincolnton

Lincolnton is a city and the county seat of Lincoln County, North Carolina, located northwest of Charlotte along the South Fork of the Catawba River. Named in honor of Revolutionary War Major General Benjamin Lincoln, the community of approximately 11,800 was the historical site of the first cotton mill constructed south of the Potomac River. Zoned within the Lincoln County Schools system, the city serves as a regional commercial hub.
