Linden, TN

Linden is Perry County's seat in western Tennessee, on the west bank of the Buffalo River. It was incorporated in 1850 after the county government moved here in 1848, and the town's courthouse square still gives the center a civic shape. The 2020 census counted 997 residents. The town is bordered by the Buffalo and Tennessee Rivers, placing Linden among river valleys, county roads, and the larger Memphis-Nashville corridor.

Linden's downtown has local shops, salons, vendor markets, and the restored Commodore Hotel, while the town's calendar includes the Blooming Arts Festival, Music on Main, and the fall Remembering WWII event. The courthouse remains part of the everyday county-seat scene, and the Buffalo River gives the surrounding area its strongest physical reference. Hunting and fishing are part of the county's outdoor life, with nearby Mousetail Landing State Park along the Tennessee River. Linden works as a small county center with a historic square, river access in several directions, and recurring events that bring residents back into the middle of town.
