About Linn

Linn is the Osage County seat, a Missouri city platted in 1843 and named for Senator Lewis F. Linn. Its most distinctive present-day institution began as Linn Technical Junior College in 1961, grew into Linn State Technical College, and became State Technical College of Missouri in 2014. The campus gives Linn a statewide education role that sits alongside the courthouse, Osage County R-II schools, and the farm roads leading into the Jefferson City metro. Linn is a county-seat town with a technical college at its center, so the local map mixes government, trades training, and rural Osage County life.
