Livingston, WI

Straddling the border of Grant and Iowa counties, Livingston is a quiet southwestern Wisconsin village located right along Highway 80, roughly halfway between Platteville and Fennimore. The community got its start back in 1880 when a new railroad line came through, quickly attracting the shops and families that built the town. Today, it serves as a calm home base for commuters and families, with local students attending the nearby Iowa-Grant schools.

With a population of just over 600 people, the village keeps a relaxed, welcoming pace. A few classic nineteenth-century buildings still line the streets, and locals still remember 2010, when pieces of a passing meteorite shower rained down across the surrounding farmland. Platteville is an easy thirteen-mile drive to the south for shopping, dining, and campus events, while Fennimore is seventeen miles north, giving residents the peace of rural living with everyday essentials close at hand.
