About Loch Arbour

Loch Arbour is a small Monmouth County village along the Atlantic, bordered by Allenhurst, Interlaken, and Asbury Park. New Jersey incorporated it on April 23, 1957, from pieces of Ocean Township after a local referendum. The name comes from Lochaber, Scotland. Its formation was tied to a proposed beachfront condominium build, and the village later voted down a 1997 plan to return to Ocean Township. Deal Lake covers 158 acres beside the village and is shared by seven municipalities. The local map is easy to read: ocean on one side, lake to the west, and Asbury Park immediately south.
