Lockhart, FL

Lockhart is an Orange County community on the northwest side of the Orlando area. It began as a town when the Lockhart mill was completed in 1894, and citrus was once a major part of its local identity. Today Lockhart is mostly a built-out suburban community with schools operated by Orange County Public Schools, commercial strips, apartments, and single-family neighborhoods. A mural at Edgewater Drive gives one visible nod to its older story. Lockhart feels practical and close-in, more Orlando suburb than standalone small town.
