About Lockport

Lockport is a town in Niagara County, New York, situated in the northwestern part of the state. Established in 1824 and named for the famous Erie Canal locks that pass through the area, the community of approximately 20,600 entirely surrounds the independent City of Lockport. Bounded to the south by Tonawanda Creek, the town is zoned across several local school districts and offers a mix of agricultural land and suburban neighborhoods.
