Loco Hills, NM

Loco Hills is a tiny rural community in southeastern New Mexico with fewer than a hundred residents. Located along Highway 82 about 16 miles east of Artesia, the settlement largely revolves around the surrounding Permian Basin oilfields. It offers wide-open desert scenery and plenty of quiet, though there are virtually no commercial services in town. Anyone moving to the area will find a secluded pace of life and should expect a short commute into Artesia or Carlsbad for groceries, schools, and healthcare.
