Locust Fork, AL

Locust Fork is a Blount County town set on a bluff above the Blackburn Fork of the Little Warrior River. Local tradition ties the name to Andrew Jackson, who camped at the river fork and carved his name in a locust tree. The town’s civic timeline includes a 1921 school, a WPA-built high school in 1937, and incorporation on January 18, 1977. The high school burned in 1961 and was rebuilt on the same site.
