Lodi, OH

Lodi is a village in Harrisville Township, Medina County, southwest of Medina along US 42. The 2020 census counted 2,746 residents. Founded in 1811, it is Medina County's oldest settlement and was first called Harrisville for Judge Joseph Harris. The East Fork of the Black River enters from the north, giving the village a waterway that bends through an otherwise road-centered corner of the county. Lodi sits on the north-south divide, so rainwater from the area can head toward Lake Erie or toward the Ohio River.

That small geographic wrinkle is the kind of detail locals use to place the village on a map. The river gives the village a useful geographic surprise. The Cloverleaf school district serves the surrounding communities, and the old Sweet Corn Festival remains part of Lodi's memory even after the last event in 2019. Lodi is a Medina County crossroads with an early-settlement name, a creek-fed layout, and two drainage basins pulling in opposite directions.
