Lonsdale, MN

Lonsdale is a growing small town in Rice County, about 40 miles south of Minneapolis. Home to around 5,000 people, it gives residents quiet neighborhoods, plenty of open space, and scenic farmland right outside town. Early Czech and Norwegian settlers shaped the area, and that heritage is still alive in local community events and longtime family businesses. It has held onto a tight-knit, welcoming atmosphere where neighbors look out for one another.

Commuting is simple thanks to Highway 19 running through town and Interstate 35 just six miles to the east. Families have good educational choices, splitting between the New Prague and Tri-City United school districts alongside Holy Cross Catholic School right in town. With well-kept city parks, a great local library, and favorite hometown spots for food and essentials, Lonsdale offers comfortable small-town living within easy reach of the south metro.
