Lonsdale is a city in Rice County, Minnesota, operating as a rapidly growing exurb forty miles south of downtown Minneapolis. Settled historically by Bohemian immigrants of Czech descent and Norwegian farmers in the late nineteenth century, the community of approximately 4,896 lies along State Highway 19. Public education is served by the Tri-City United School District.
