Loudonville, NY

Loudonville is a hamlet north of Albany, between the city and Newtonville, with a long-standing reputation as one of the Capital Region's more affluent residential areas. It was originally a 19th-century summer resort for some of Albany's wealthier families and is named for John Campbell, 4th Earl of Loudoun. Siena University is one of its major landmarks, and parts of the community are recognized for historic character. Loudonville feels leafy, established, and close to Albany without feeling urban.
