About Madeira Beach
Madeira Beach, known locally as Mad Beach, is a coastal city in Pinellas County, Florida, situated on a barrier island between the Gulf of Mexico and St. Petersburg. Named after the Portuguese island of Madeira, the community of approximately 4,000 features the John's Pass boardwalk and entertainment district along the Intracoastal Waterway. The pass itself was historically carved out by a major hurricane in 1848, and the area remains a popular resort destination.
