About Madelia

Madelia is a quiet southern Minnesota town of about 2,400 residents, set right along the Watonwan River. Its location off Highways 15 and 60 makes for an easy commute to Mankato while keeping daily life peaceful and grounded. A lot of the action happens at Watona Park on the south side of town. It is a fantastic spot for the size of the community, offering shaded campsites, ballfields, playgrounds, a canoe launch, disc golf, a nine-hole golf course, and groomed winter trails for skiing and snowmobiling.

Flanders' Block

Families appreciate having local K-12 schools close by, along with a walkable downtown and the Watonwan County Historical Museum. Community traditions run strong here, especially in the summer during Park Days, which brings everyone down to the riverfront for parades, live music, craft vendors, and food trucks. Madelia offers a welcoming small-town setting where parks, everyday amenities, and friendly neighbors are always right around the corner.
