About New Ulm

New Ulm is a city and the county seat of Brown County, Minnesota, located at the confluence of the Minnesota and Cottonwood rivers. Widely known for its rich German heritage and historical landmarks from the US-Dakota War of 1862, the community of approximately 14,100 is home to the August Schell Brewing Company, founded in 1860. The city features the Hermann Heights Monument, Flandrau State Park, and is served by Independent School District 88.
