Maine is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin, situated along the Wisconsin River. Originally organized as a town in 1866, named for surveyor Uriah E. Maine, and incorporating as a village in 2015 before absorbing neighboring Brokaw, the community of approximately 2,602 is served by the Wausau School District locally.
