Manhattan, IL

Manhattan is a Will County village southwest of Chicago, with township roots going back to 1853. It sits along the Wauponsee Glacial Trail, which gives the community a direct link to the region's rail-trail landscape. Manhattan is served by School District 114, and its schools, subdivisions, churches, and remaining farm edges define much of local life. It feels like a growing outer-suburban Illinois village, still quieter than Joliet or New Lenox but clearly inside Chicago's expanding reach.
