About Manila

Manila is a city in northwestern Mississippi County, Arkansas, situated within the fertile agricultural land of the Arkansas Delta. The town developed from a late 1860s herdsman's camp established by John Needham, and it is famously known as the hometown of World War I sniper Herman Davis. Located near the Big Lake National Wildlife Refuge, the community is served by its own public school district, the Manila School District.
