Mansfield is a Wright County city on the south edge of the Salem Plateau, where U.S. 60 and Missouri 5 cross the Ozarks' wooded and farmed country. F. Mansfield platted the town in 1882, and the city still works as a road-centered place between the White River tributaries to the south and the county-seat routes around Hartville.
