Marydel, MD

Sitting right on the Maryland-Delaware border in Caroline County, Marydel gets its name from a simple blend of the two states. Back in the mid-1800s, it was known as Halltown after local landowner William Hall, starting out as a modest cluster of homes, a sawmill, and a hotel. Today, living directly on the state line is simply part of daily life, with the border running straight through town.
