About Masthope
Masthope Mountain Community is a Pike County census-designated place in Lackawaxen Township, near the New York border. The name is said to come from a Native American language for "beads of glass." It is a private community in the northern Poconos, bordered by Westcolang Lake, the Delaware River, and the Lackawaxen River. A lodge, ski area, horse stables, fitness center, and beach are part of the community's planned landscape. Masthope is less an old town center than a named mountain community organized around its lakes, rivers, and shared facilities.
