Maywood Park, OR

Maywood Park is a quiet, tree-filled neighborhood tucked completely within Northeast Portland, functioning as its own independent city of just over 800 residents. Planned in the 1920s and largely finished by the 1940s, it has a classic mid-century feel with its mix of cozy cottages, ranch-style homes, and calm, curving streets. Neighbors originally incorporated the town in 1967 in an effort to push back against the construction of Interstate 205. That grassroots spirit remains strong today, giving the area a distinct identity and a close-knit community feel.

Living here gives you the perks of a small town alongside everyday city convenience. The city maintains its own municipal council and hosts local gatherings throughout the year, while students attend schools in the neighboring Parkrose School District. With Sandy Boulevard and I-205 right along the neighborhood edges, commuting into downtown Portland or heading to the airport takes only a few minutes.
