Medway, OH

Medway is an unincorporated census-designated place in Bethel Township, Clark County, just west of Springfield. The 2020 census counted 627 residents. Crystal Lakes and Park Layne are nearby, and Spangler Road runs south toward I-70 and the I-675 terminus. The Mad River valley and Honey Creek give the community its physical setting, with farm roads and small residential areas spread between the larger Springfield and Dayton networks.

The valley also carries a long frontier history. French fur traders reached the Mad River area in 1671, and George Rogers Clark's 1782 campaign moved through the region during the Revolutionary War. Later settlers, mills, and road traffic made the valley a route between communities. Today Medway lies in Tecumseh Local School District, and the nearby Medway school campus connects the CDP to the wider New Carlisle area. Its place on the Lower Valley Pike corridor, close to I-70 and the Mad River, gives Medway a practical mix of old landscape, school routes, and metropolitan access.
