Meggett, SC

Meggett is a quiet Lowcountry town tucked into southwestern Charleston County, about thirty miles south of downtown Charleston. Home to roughly 1,400 residents, it offers open acreage, tidal creeks, and a slow-paced lifestyle away from suburban subdivisions. The town grew in the early 1900s as a farming and railroad hub, once proudly known as the Cabbage Capital of the World. Today, mossy live oaks, historic farmsteads, and waterways like Toogoodoo Creek and the Stono River define the town's scenic back roads and waterfront homes.
