Mentone, AL

Perched along the top of Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama, Mentone offers a quiet, slow-paced lifestyle with cooler weather and gorgeous natural scenery. With only a few hundred year-round residents, the town has long served as a peaceful mountain retreat. It first drew visitors in the late nineteenth century for its fresh air and mineral springs, earning its name from the French resort town of Menton. Today, historic youth camps still bring a lively rush of energy each summer, giving the area a charming blend of seasonal bustle and secluded mountain living.
