About Merriam

Merriam is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, situated within the Kansas City metropolitan area along the Interstate 35 corridor. Incorporated in 1950 and named in honor of railroad executive Charles Merriam, the community of approximately 11,100 is home to the global headquarters of the Seaboard Corporation. The suburban city borders Overland Park and Shawnee, with public schools administered by the Shawnee Mission School District.
