About Mesquite

Mesquite is a city in northeastern Clark County, Nevada, along Interstate 15 near the Arizona state line and about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. It sits in the Virgin River valley beside the Virgin Mountains. Mormon pioneers settled the area in 1880 as Mesquite Flat, and the modern city has grown into a retirement, golf, and casino community. Casinos such as Virgin River, CasaBlanca, and Eureka give Mesquite a resort edge, but the surrounding desert valley still defines the setting.
