Metaline, WA

Set along the banks of the Pend Oreille River in far northeastern Washington, Metaline is a quiet town of fewer than two hundred residents. Born out of the region’s nineteenth-century mining boom, the community today enjoys a relaxed, peaceful pace surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains. Metaline shares the river valley with neighboring Metaline Falls, though it holds its own distinct identity as the smaller, purely residential neighbor on the western shore.

Daily recreation centers around Metaline Waterfront Park, a well-maintained riverside spot where locals can launch boats and kayaks, bring kids to the playground, or enjoy an afternoon under the picnic shelter.
