About Mifflinville

Mifflinville is a Columbia County census-designated place on the south side of the Susquehanna River, several miles downriver from Berwick. It is the main settlement of Mifflin Township, where the river forms the northern boundary and Nescopeck Mountain closes the southern side of the map. The township’s early record includes a Mifflinville frame church built in 1831, while the broader county story follows river routes, roads, canals, and rail lines through the Susquehanna Valley. Central Columbia School District serves the community, and Bloomsburg University is the nearest college. The local shorthand is riverbank, township center, Berwick downstream, and Susquehanna Valley geography.
