About Milford

Milford is a village in Oakland County, Michigan, located within Milford Township northwest of Detroit. Founded in 1832 when Elizur and Stanley Ruggles built a sawmill along the Huron River, the community of approximately 6,500 is best known as the home of the General Motors Proving Ground. Recreation is centered around the Huron River and Hubbell Pond, and public education is provided by Huron Valley Schools.
