About Millville
Millville sits on the east side of Little Fishing Creek in northwestern Columbia County, where the creek runs south toward Fishing Creek and the Susquehanna. John Eves is thought to have visited the Greenwood Valley in 1770, returned with his son the next year, and built a log cabin that helped start the local settlement. The borough's current map still follows the water: Greenwood Township wraps around most sides, while Madison and Pine townships lie across Little Fishing Creek. Millville Area School District serves the community, and the borough's history group has been collecting stories for its 250th-anniversary project. This is a creek town first, with the Susquehanna just downstream.
