Minor Hill, TN

Minor Hill sits on a rise in southwestern Giles County, nearly 200 feet above West Fork Shoal Creek Valley. State Route 11 crosses the ridge, linking the city with Pulaski to the northeast and Alabama to the southwest. The name comes from Joseph Minor, an early settler; a later owner of the tract gave land for a school, church, and cemetery in the mid-19th century. That combination of hilltop road and shared institutions still gives the place its shape.

Minor Hill incorporated as a city in 1969 and retains a small municipal structure centered on City Hall, regular mayor-alderman meetings, and basic services. The surrounding valley remains agricultural, with local roads dropping from the ridge toward Shoal Creek and neighboring communities. For residents, the city is a place where a long family-and-church history sits alongside a state route that carries everyday trips toward Pulaski, Giles County services, and the Alabama line. Its scale is modest, but the hill makes the geographic setting unmistakable.
