Mitchellville, AR

Mitchellville is a quiet, close-knit community in the Arkansas Delta, located just north of Dumas alongside open farmland. Founded after World War II by local Black church leaders who wanted to help families buy their own land, the town carries a proud history of community building. Civil rights leader Daisy Bates even spent time here in the 1960s working alongside residents to help secure municipal water and sewer services. Today, Mitchellville offers a peaceful, low-key setting with a strong neighborhood feel. Since it borders Dumas, locals share the Dumas school district and head right down the road for shopping, dining, and healthcare.
