About Monroeville
Monroeville is a Huron County village that started life as Monroe, laid out in 1817 and named for President James Monroe. Postal authorities later changed the name to Monroeville, and the village incorporated in 1868. North Monroeville sits in Erie County, so the local map has a second Monroeville just north of town. This is north-central Ohio in a small-town name-and-county-line story.
