Morgantown, PA

Morgantown is a Berks-and-Lancaster County census-designated place in Caernarvon Township, a place with one foot on each side of a county line. The 2020 census counted 1,541 residents. The town was laid out around 1770 by Colonel Jacob Morgan, whose Welsh family background gives the name a little more history than the West Virginia namesake might suggest. The Conestoga River drains through the community toward the Susquehanna. The surrounding hills keep the older village feeling close even as truck traffic and casino traffic use the same roads.
