About Mosheim
Mosheim is a Greene County town at the base and southern slopes of Big Ridge, with 2,479 residents in the 2020 census. It began as Blue Springs, named for the spring that flows through town, and German Lutheran settlers were among its early residents. U.S. 11E and Interstate 81 run through the area, with the Mosheim interchange opening the town to Greene County's larger road network. The town's working map includes factories and a Walmart distribution center, while Greene County schools operate Mosheim Elementary, West Greene Middle, and West Greene High. Mosheim Town Park and Anna Sue Ward Park cover the recreation side, and Mosheim FunDays returns each June with food, crafts, music, games, pageants, and a car show. Volunteer Speedway is near the I-81 exit. Mosheim is a ridge-foot town where a spring, factories, schools, and a long-running early-summer festival share the same local frame.
