About Mount Airy
Mount Airy is a town on the Frederick-Carroll county line, with parts reaching into Howard and Montgomery counties as well. It began developing in the 1830s and became known for its train station on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, which helped give the hilltop community its shape. Today Mount Airy has elementary schools, a middle school, older downtown blocks, and commuter access toward both Frederick and the Baltimore-Washington region. It feels like a small Maryland town at the meeting point of several county identities.
